Group Block
A set of rooms or units held together for a single group, a wedding party, a conference, a retreat, usually under one organizer.
A group block is a reservation of multiple units linked to one event. A wedding might block 40 rooms for guests; a corporate retreat might block a set of cabins; a conference might block a hotel's whole floor.
The hard part of a group block isn't holding the rooms, it's everything after. Who gets which room? Who's paid? Who has dietary needs? Traditional tools treat a group block as a note or a manual spreadsheet alongside the booking.
Modern group booking turns the block into a managed object: built on unique inventory, distributed through an attendee cascade, with each attendee claiming a real unit and paying their share.
