Can AI Replace a Dispatcher?

  • Inter-team coordination. Sales calls dispatch saying "I just sold a roof; we need to be there Friday for an exterior survey." That's a conversation, not a ticket.

The new dispatcher role

Post-AI, the dispatcher's job changes shape:

  • Less: answering phones, typing addresses, sending ETA texts, manually slotting jobs.
  • More: managing the day's exceptions, building tech relationships, owning customer-satisfaction calls, looking 2–3 days ahead at the schedule for crew gaps.
