How the role changes
Post-AI, the banquet manager is less of an administrator and more of a service leader. Typical post-AI workload shift:
- Less: typing, emailing, re-keying data, building PDFs.
- More: floor presence, team coaching, planner-relationship building, post-event service reviews.
The BMs who thrive are the ones who were already strong on the floor. The BMs who built their career on Delphi proficiency have a harder transition — but the role they're protecting is the role that was already being downsized.
